The Infrared (IR) Beam sensor is specifically designed for installation on the rear deck of the boat, serving as a critical security and safety component. This sensor works by projecting an invisible IR beam between two points—typically from a transmitter to a receiver—forming a continuous line of detection. If the beam is interrupted, such as by a person, object, or movement passing through it, the sensor immediately sends a signal to trigger an alarm.
The primary purpose of the IR Beam sensor is to alert the crew to unauthorized access or potential intrusions, especially when the boat is docked or anchored. The sensor’s real-time response helps ensure swift action, contributing to the overall security and safety of the vessel.
The sender is supplied with batteries and has ~5yr lifecycle however the beams need to be wired into the low voltage power supply.
